On a foggy September morning in 1931, just east of the corner of Kearney and Myers Streets, Clarence Brown directs Wallace Ford and Joan Crawford in a scene for Possessed. This photo was taken by Sam Manatt, looking from Mission Road toward the Los Angeles River. City Hall is barely visible at left. My thanks to John Bengston for determining the location of this shot, since the towers and houses are long gone. This same street can be seen in the 1947 film Cass Timberlane.
