Life magazine, 10/05/59. On the set of 'Best of Everything.' Director Negulesco has just told Joan that Hope Lange, not she, will slam the door in a scene. Original caption: 'Joan glares back at Negulesco after the decision goes against her. Once good friends, the two found themselves out of sympathy during making of movie and Negulesco refused to help Joan in private rehearsals.
